Most people wouldn't use the word "safe" when considering my approach to life. Traveling through Egypt solo, renting a motorcycle and cruising through Laos, hanging over the top of a waterfall, mountain biking, cliff jumping, glacier hiking...
The truth is, though, that I often play it safe. It's obvious in the way that I plan and pray and hope. It's evident in the things that I do and the ways that I do them. And, it's even more apparent in the things that I don't do.
But, I'm dusting off the chalk. I'm learning to let go of the beam. And, I'm working on my routine.
Because, I don't think it would be a compliment if I heard the words, "You lived the safest life possible. You didn't slip, you didn't fall."
Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I hope to fall. But, I'm reminding myself that when I do, at least it means I was standing up.
